The European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the FVE are organising a webinar on Tuesday 13 October (16:00-17:15 CEST) for veterinary students on the importance of pharmacovigilance in protecting animal health, public health and the environment.
Why pharmacovigilance matters
Vets are on the frontline of veterinary medicine use and play a key role in monitoring medicine safety. As the professionals closest to animals and their owners, they are often the first to identify suspected adverse events.
Reporting these events provides field evidence, helps identify emerging risks and supports the safe and effective use of veterinary medicines.
What students will learn
The session will introduce students to the marketing authorisation process, post-authorisation safety monitoring and the principles of adverse event reporting. It will also explore how veterinarians contribute to pharmacovigilance and why these responsibilities matter in clinical practice.
