The World Veterinary Association (WVA) has announced its candidates for the 2026 Elections for the positions of President-Elect and Councillors. Former FVE president Rens van Dobbenburgh (Netherlands) and Petra Sindern (Germany) have been nominated – and appointed – as WVA Councillors for Europe for 2026-2028. They will take up their roles at the upcoming WVA congress in Tokyo, Japan (21-24 April).
Four presidential candidates
Slaven Grbić (Bosnia-Herzegovina), board member of the Union of European Veterinary Hygienists (UEVH), is standing as a candidate for President‑Elect for WVA. The other candidates are Olatunji Nasir (Nigeria), Helio Blume (Brazil) and Juhyung Hur (South Korea). Voting will take place via electronic ballot beginning on 1 February 2026.
