Following the notification of new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in several Member States, the European Commission has taken measures in the field of animal health, by adopting an implementing act.
Regions interested by HPAI outbreak are:
- In the state of Bavaria and the Länder of Baden-Württemberg and Lower Saxony in Germany,
- In the Normandy region in France,
- In the Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, and Veneto regions in Italy,
- In the counties of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Hajdú-Bihar in Hungary,
- In the voivodeships of Silesia, Warmian-Masurian, Łódź, and Mazovia in Poland,
- In the Lisbon district in Portugal.
All the interested countries formed the protection and surveillance zones around the affected areas, and they are taking all the necessary measures to combat the disease.
