Whether it’s a colleague's birthday, a professional milestone or a special bond with a patient — the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe invites you to share a special moment of 2025 that celebrates the veterinary journey, by entering a photo competition.

Veterinary anniversaries

The photo should clearly represent a veterinary-related anniversary or celebration, such as a colleague’s birthday, a professional anniversary (e.g. clinic, public service, academic, industry or research setting), graduation, retirement, or years of service, first day at work or first patient/first case handled.

Photo requirements

Photos must be original, taken in 2025 and by you. You must be the sole copyright owner. AI-generated or AI-edited images are not permitted and photos must not be digitally altered or heavily treated (e.g. filters, effects or image manipulation). However, basic adjustments such as cropping, brightness or contrast are acceptable.

Permissions & copyright

It is your responsibility to obtain permission from anyone visible in the photo — including owners if the subject is an animal. Please submit the original high-quality photo (image size 1-5 Mb). By entering, you grant FVE a worldwide, non-exclusive and irrevocable licence to reproduce, publish and share your image across its channels. However, you retain copyright and will be credited wherever possible.

Who can participate?

The competition is open to veterinarians – whether practitioners or not – and vet students over 18, in Europe. Current FVE and Sections staff, Board members and Panel representatives are not eligible to participate, directly or indirectly.

Deadline 1 October

Submit your photo via our online form, providing your full name, email address, name of the image and date it was taken, as well as a brief description. Only one entry per person is allowed. Paper versions (postal entries) will not be accepted. Deadline for submission is 1 October (midnight).

Selection criteria

The jury, consisting of a panel representing FVE, Fecava, UEVP, UEVH, Everi and Easvo, will select a winner based on the following criteria: relevance to the topic, creativity and originality, storytelling and description, visual impact, composition and technical quality, celebratory mood and atmosphere. Winner(s) will be notified via email on or around 1 November.
