Antimicrobial resistance: farmers & vets (AMRFV) is a hands-on training session aimed at farmers and vets working with food producing animals. Its aim is to:

  • Inform farmers and veterinarians about the implications of the EU legislation on medicated feed and on veterinary medicinal products in their daily routines.
  • Encourage sharing good practices on a reduced use of antimicrobials.
  • Facilitate the transition towards a reduced use of antimicrobials by informing farmers and veterinarians about measures that could prevent infection occurrence.

Focus on farmers and vets

The interactive training sessions include legislative updates focused on farmers and vets, working group sessions focused on specific species, exchanges of perspectives, problems and solutions, plenary debriefing sessions and case studies. Networking among participants will be facilitated during the sessions and in social events during lunch, dinner and coffee-breaks. All training sessions are free and participants can apply for accommodation and reimbursement of travel costs. The programme can also be followed by livestream.
