On 11 February 2025, the European Commission published an implementing act concerning certain emergency measures in relation to outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in certain Member States.
The following regions have notified outbreaks :
- The Lower Saxony state in Germany ;
- The Piedmont region, in Italy;
- The Hajdú-Bihar county, in Hungary;
- The Liège province, in Belgium;
- The district of Plovdiv, in Bulgaria;
- The province of Friesland, in the Netherlands;
- The Łódź, Lubusz, Mazovia and Wielkopolska voivodships, in Poland;
- The Aveiro district, in Portugal.
Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland and Portugal have taken the requisite disease control measures, including the establishment of protection and surveillance zones around outbreaks.
