On 30 January, on 31 January and 4 February 2025, the European Commission published a implementing acts concerning measures related to sheep pox and goat pox outbreaks in Bulgaria and in Hungary.
The following regions have notified outbreaks:
- the Sliven region and the Pazardzhik region (Velingrad municipality) in Bulgaria;
- The Zala county in Hungary.
Bulgaria and Hungary is taking the necessary measures to combat the disease, including the establishment of protection and surveillance zones around the affected areas.
