Students learning

MSD Animal Health and the FVE are offering 34 scholarships of USD 5,000 (around €4,470) to veterinary students across Europe. The programme aims to support students’ academic development, taking into account academic merit, financial need and geographical diversity.

Who can apply?

The scholarships are open to veterinary students who, in October 2026, are enrolled in their third, fourth or fifth year at a recognised veterinary teaching establishment in Europe. The establishment must be an EAEVE member with approved, accredited, conditionally accredited or pending-accreditation status. Applicants must be citizens of an eligible European country and must not have previously received an MSD-funded scholarship.

Independent selection process

Applications will be reviewed and selected by FVE in collaboration with members of the FVE/IVSA Review Committee. To ensure impartiality, representatives of veterinary schools will not assess students from their own institution, while MSD Animal Health employees or contractors will not participate in the selection of award recipients.

Applications open until 15 November

Applicants must provide letters of support from their Dean and a professor, evidence of financial need and the required application documents. Applications must be submitted by 15 November 2026 at 23:59 CET. Selected students and their schools will be notified on 15 January 2027, with disbursement scheduled for February 2027.

A list of FAQs and application forms are now available. Other questions should be directed to Gonçalo Portela (FVE Office). FVE advises applicants to submit questions at least 72 hours before the application deadline to ensure a response in time.
