On 31 March and 3 April 2025, the European Commission published implementing acts outlining emergency measures in response to the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, confirmed on 25 and 26 March in the Trnava region of Slovakia and in the Győr-Moson-Sopron County of Hungary.
The following measures have been established :
- In Hungary, emergency measures for the Győr-Moson-Sopron County and the Komárom-Esztergom County.
- In Slovakia, emergency measures in the regions of Bratislava, Trnava, and Nitra.
- In Austria, emergency measures are in effect in the federal states of Niederösterreich and Burgenland
In cooperation, Hungary, Slovakia and Austria have implemented necessary disease control measures in the newly regulated zones, including protection and surveillance areas, to prevent the further spread of this disease.
