Vets involved in apiculture are invited to take part in a new survey examining how the EU Animal Health Law (AHL) is being implemented in the European beekeeping sector. Developed by the Apiculture Health Working Group of the FNOVI, the questionnaire aims to assess how the new legislation is being applied in different countries, taking into account national practices and operational realities.

Apiculture and the AHL: getting a clearer picture

The initiative focuses on key areas including bee movements, identification and registration systems, disease surveillance, official controls, compensation mechanisms and border measures. By comparing approaches between Member States, the working group hopes to build a clearer picture of how the AHL and its delegated and implementing acts are functioning in practice within the apiculture sector.
