Former UEVP president Zsolt Pinter (Hungary) became honorary member of the Union of European Veterinary Practitioners during the UEVP general assembly in Rovaniemi (Finland) on 11 June. Honorary membership was established on the occasion of UEVPs 55th birthday and recognises veterinarians for ‘exceptional commitment and dedication to the welfare of the UEVP and the European veterinary profession.’

‘Exceptional commitment and dedication'

Honorary membership was an acknowledgement of ‘outstanding contribution to strengthening the role of veterinary practitioners in Europe,’ explained Volker Moser, UEVP President. Zsolt Pinter (pictured at right), who said the recognition had come as a great surprise, had been unable to attend the general assembly in Limassol, Cyprus, where six other colleagues received honorary membership.
