Within the European Parliament, the Committee on Public Health (SANT) brings together MEPs involved in health-related issues, including those falling under the “One Health” approach.
A draft work programme, listing the topics the Committee intends to address during the current mandate, provides an initial overview of its forthcoming priorities. The final adoption of this programme is expected at the next Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament, scheduled for 30 April.
Among the planned initiatives, the SANT Committee is expected to draw up a report on the implementation of the EU Council Recommendation aimed at strengthening the EU’s action against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
